Is a rare mineral, a kind of gemstone, quartz crystal, which belongs to the quartz family in mineralogy. The main chemical composition is silicon dioxide, the chemical formula is SiO2.

When pure, it forms colorless and transparent crystals. When it contains trace elements Al, Fe, etc., it is pink, purple, yellow, brown, etc. The irradiated trace elements form different types of color centers, resulting in different colors, such as purple, yellow, brown, pink and so on. The crystals containing associated inclusion minerals are called inclusion crystals, such as hair crystal, green ghost, red rabbit hair, etc. The inclusions are rutile, tourmaline, actinite, mica, chlorite, etc.

Color is very important for any gemstone, and crystal is no exception. If the crystal is colored, such as pink crystal, citrine, amethyst, etc., the highest standard of color evaluation is bright and moving, without other hues such as gray, black, brown, etc. Such as pink crystal, the color is preferably pink; amethyst, the color is bright purple, pure and not black; citrine, the color is required to not contain green, lemon tones, and kumquat is better. For hair crystals, the color of the crystal is also important. Blonde crystals with the same hair, the crystals are completely colorless (white crystals) and the crystals are slightly brown, and the visual perception of the naked eye is also different, so the price of the former will be higher than the latter.

① Look at the raw materials: Crystal products with well-chosen materials should have no glue mouth and cotton wool; the texture is pure, smooth and crystal clear.
②Look at the workmanship: There are two kinds of crystal processing, grinder and engraver. Such as crystal necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc. are abrasives;
③ Look at polishing: The quality of polishing directly affects the value of crystal products.
④ Look at the eyelets: For crystal products (such as necklaces, bracelets, beads), it is necessary to see whether the eyelets are straight, the thickness of the holes is uniform, and whether there are small cracks. The hole wall must be clear and transparent without "white marks".
⑤ Look at the color: Even in the same type of crystal, the texture and color of its different parts are also different. If it belongs to a single color, the chromaticity should be uniform; if there are shades on the same crystal, the tone and texture should be beautiful and generous.
